How much effort are you putting in?

KST_4956-1610-hdHow often do you feeling like you’re working extremely hard with lots of effort, however the return isn’t what you are looking for. Has anybody ever told you that you’re working too hard for the output you’re producing? Why does this happen? Better known as low efficiency. It’s made worse when you see others applying very little effort and producing a high output. How annoying is that?

It’s certainly not the case that you should stop all your hard work! It’s not a mistake to put your efforts into what you are doing; however there is a point where you need to draw a line and have a re-think about how you are approaching your work. Otherwise you are in danger of getting in your way. So what is it that creates this situation? We all have view of what we are like and what we are able to do; we generally don’t need to think too much about what we do as we go about our daily tasks. It’s something we do without having to think too much about it.

Are you one of those people who pays a lot of attention to detail? This is something some people identify as one of their strengths, however do be careful, every strength can be identified as a weakness. Is your attention to detail something you add to your CV? Attention to detail is necessary for a high performance, however it can be your downfall if applied inappropriately.

Note: Be aware attention to detail can also mean spending too much time on detail that doesn’t matter to the eventual outcome, leading to a costly low output. What’s the reason for your being too fussy? Is it really necessary? Are you being too particular? Whereabouts is it leading you? For example, you may have a passion for something you succeed at without too much trouble; it just happens quite naturally, this is because you see yourself as performing the task successfully, every time. This is because of your passion. If on the other hand you lack the passion you will see yourself as being unsuccessful with the task, consequently you will have to place a great deal of effort into completing it. However, your efforts come to a expensive output because your attention to detail and lack of passion don’t mix and produce high effort with low output with possible failure of the end result.

So is a change something you want? If so, make a conscious decision to carry it through and make it part of your personal growth and self development. Be aware any change you make must begin from the inside; which starts with your positive self talk. If you concentrate on sending your unconscious mind positive messages rather than the negative ones it usually receives you are on the way to achieving a more productive outcome. This will change your visible self image to others and their view to your effort and output ratio.

If you,re not to sure how to change the quality of your self talk messages try using the affirmation process. The use of positive affirmations is a great way to start the changes off; this will be your first step towards a more productive you. start with writing your affirmations down and practicing them. Keep a record in your journal diary and include the whole change process in your Personal Development Training. Over time this process will become more natural and changes will take place without you realising it. Your behaviour will then be coherent and in rapport with your inner thoughts

In summary, yes continue to pay attention to detail where it really matters and is crucial to the final output. Where it isn’t as crucial relax, pull back on your overly insistence of spending too much time refining and reviewing your work to the nth degree. Don’t expect miracles straight away; the changes you are seeking will take time, effort and a great deal of patience on your part. Also be prepared for one or two set-backs along the way; take then in your stride and continue to your new you. Whatever happens make sure you enjoy yourself; without the fun in your self development how are you expected to enjoy life?
