Have you heard about SMART goal setting? This technique is widely used by successful individuals in reaching their goals in life. They are those which are simple, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely. Once you set your goals through goal setting, you are guaranteed of favorable results.
This week has been a challenge for me. It has shown me one thing however and that is that you never stop learning! We live in a culture where we’re told, ” well there is only one thing you can do!” After all, we’re only human, if we’re told there’s only one way out of any challenge then we take the easiest option. What if we took on the challenge and took the choice to do something a little different and jump out of the box?
Life is never easy but there again who ever said it would be; there just seems to be an illusion that at some stage if we do things in a certain way life will become ‘good’ or easy. It’s just not going to happen, that is of course unless you decide it’s going to come good or get ‘better’; what ever good or better means.
Challenges are something we face each day of our lives, there’s no getting away from them they are there every single day; without fail. How do you deal with your challenges? Are they something you dread each day or are you a person that addresses them with the same enthusiasm you would a favourite past time.
If you have a bit of a sweet tooth, you may be a lover of Rocky Road crunch bars. They are a tasty chocolate bar and a favourite of the sweet tooth gang. Whilst I wouldn’t say I have a sweet tooth, I am partial to the odd cake or chocolate sweet. I am also very fortunate because I have a partner who’s a very good cook and loves baking for the family.
The Christmas festivities are all but finished as we begin our preparation for the New Year. The New Year is a great time to meet up with family and friends to celebrate and ‘welcome’ the forthcoming year; it is seen as a time for a new beginning, a time to make changes.
How often are you faced with what seems like an impossible feat to accomplishing a task and achieving your goal? They are so frustrating and annoying; and what do you think when they occur, “this is the least thing I need right now”, or something similar.
Energy level and output seem to go hand in hand in the work environment, however have you considered your energy levels in your personal life. Being motivated really does affect how you perform in your personal relationship; being unmotivated doesn’t help the success of that relationship either.
