We are all called upon everyday to make decisions; some of these decisions are very important, others not so much. How we make these decisions and the process we use can be the making or breaking of our reputation. How do you make your decisions? What process do you use? Have you got a particular strategy? We have to be very careful how we make those important decisions, whether or not they are work related or they are attached to our personal life, the same care and thought needs to be considered. How often have you been the unfortunate subject of a poor or ill thought through decision making process?
How often are you called upon to negotiate with another person or persons to come to some agreement; it doesn’t necessarily have to be at work, it could be in the home. The situation could be with your partner or your teenage children; the skills required are still the same.
Just how aware or self aware are you? How clear are you with what you are doing? How clear are you about what’s going on around you? I don’t mean the simple straightforward things that happen on a daily basis; such as now I’m having my breakfast, then I’ll catch the bus to work. They’re the easy things to be aware of.
Are you living by your principles? Principles are those things that some people last talked about in High School when they were discussing gravity or the ‘principle of moments’, that’s how a see-saw works for the non-scientific readers. Principles can also be applied to your life in the same way.
